People Are Who They Are!

My Little Goat Whisperer

I know I’ve shown you pictures of Felicia with the goats already but this is just priceless to me. She climbs up on the dog houses and spools in the goat pen and pulls the limbs down so that the goats can get to the leaves. They have already polished off everything that is reachable so she helps them out.

Ms. Donna was telling me yesterday about her doing this but I hadn’t seen it for myself. I watched and as she headed toward the area where the trees are, all the goats took off after her because they knew what she was going to do. She is learning all about how to take care of and feed these goats. She goes up there every afternoon as soon as she is finished with her homework.  She pretty much has herself a part time job up there already and gets paid on Friday. She’s eleven.

  1. Aha – I found you! Thanks for making it so much easier for me – I was halfway through adding everyone and then changed emails and had to start adding all over again. I’m so happy you got a livecloud account so you can follow me too! I’ll add you as a buddy there so that you can get into my more private entries. 🙂

I love this entry – she’s such a wonderful kid (KID!! lol). I can see the goats just adore her. 🙂

  2. Take lots more of the goat whisperer and make a QuickTime video for us – or Youtube. So, adorable.

    • Thanks Trailblazer. I’m such a picture freak, I haven’t even thought about doing a video. I’ll have to do that.

    • It’s been great for her and yes, she makes all the references about her job. “It’s time to go to work,” “I’ll get paid on Friday,” etc. It’s funny.

  13. What a tremendous opportunity for Felicia!! Children who have been through lots of ups and downs especially benefit from spending time with and taking care of animals. It helps them heal. How wonderful for her that she has you and these playful goats.

  14. Thanks LB. That was really nice to hear. Yes, these animals have been very healing for her and Ms. Donna spends a lot of time talking to her as well. Ms. Donna grew up with a father who was a practicing psychologist and she has a lot of insight to offer. Felicia is doing really well.
