Fun by the Fire

Friday night, the girls and I went up to Ms. Donna’s. She bought one of those portable fire pits and has been building a fire to sit by at night. We roasted marshmallows and talked the whole evening. It was a gorgeous night for a fire and we all had fun. All the photos are compliments of Hailey!

    • Thanks CbD. Hailey took them all. The marshmallow one is my favorite too, well, other than one I took of Hailey. It’s such a good picture of her!

I agree with Irony, that first fire pic right before stuff burned up is great. I love how dark it is there, how fun. Ghost stories? 😉

    • Actually, no ghost stories. However, one of Donna’s dogs got attacked a few nights ago and the vet said that it was attacked by a chupacabra. Some say they don’t exist, some say they do. So we did have everyone jumping every time there was any kind of noise and saying “run! it’s the chupacabra!” Might as well have been ghost stories!

      • Is your vet Hispanic or something? The chupacabra is a Latin American legend. If you didn’t know already, it means “goat sucker”, literally, or more loosely translated, “vampire that drinks the blood of livestock, like goats.”

Oh, what fun!! My kids got to do this type of roasting of marshmallows when friends came this summer. We borrowed our neighbors fire pit. The photographs are wonderful! Looks like someone likes their marshmallows burnt, like some of my kids. I like my slowly toasted brown and very melted on the inside.

I am glad you all are having fun together!!

    • Thanks Freedom. Yes it was fun, and yes, I’m like you, I don’t like mine all burnt up either.

  5. Ooooooh! I *love* the photo of the marshmallow on fire – that is so cool. I’ve only ever roasted marshmallows once – I don’t particularly like them. 😦 I love a good fire though.

    • Well, we have cooked hotdogs on it too. That’s just as fun! lol I like that picture too Emjay. I thought Hailey did a great job taking pictures.

  6. Some campfire action sounds mightily appealing in today’s snow-struck region.
