People Are Who They Are!

Day 2

Day 2 went well until I got home tonight. I relapsed. I smoked 3 cigarettes tonight. I'll have to start again tomorrow. I'm disappointed with myself but I am making myself be honest with you guys. Tomorrow's another day. Hopefully I'll do better.

  1. At least you are trying. I haven't even done that for a long time.

  2. Remember, only hold out for an hour at a time. Keep trying. It's so worth it to give up.

  4. Thanks Snowy. I'm going to make another fresh start tomorrow. I wanted one all day really bad for some reason and when I got home alone it was easy to give in to my craving. I regretted it as soon as I did it though. I'm just going to keep working at it. They say that's why a lot of people fail is because once they give in to that first cigarette, they give up trying to quit. I'm just going to keep on trying even though I did fail today. Tomorrow's a new day.

  5. Forget about it. Your resolve is there. If you did it perfectly you wouldn't be human!
Just an FYI, little trick is that I stopped buying the things, and I forced myself to beg other people for them. That really ticked off my smoking buddies so it motivated me to stop, LOL! The part that takes the most effort is going to the store and buying them, so it was easy to stop.
Stupid cigarettes. Why did people invent those dumb things in the first place?

  6. Hang in there!! Will you have to start all over or do you go back to no cigarettes today? I like the advice above….one hour at a time! I hope this day goes better for you!

  8. Thanks Emmi. That really made me feel better. I was really feeling down and out. We forget we are human sometimes and are weak. I'm starting fresh this morning.

  9. If you could just up and quit in one day– if it were that easy, you'd have quit a long time ago. We all have challenges that seem impossible to overcome. Sometimes I have to take life minute by minute. Literally: I am going to unload the silverware. That's all I have to do. And then I find the next minuscule task I can wrap my mind around, and I do that. And lots of times I give in to temptation and screw up. I find your honesty incredibly brave! You must really, really want to quit!

  13. This is a hard process…don't be too hard on yourself…just take it one baby step at a time.
